Urban Childhood Safari with Susan H. Robichaud
A 12 hour (probably longer) workshop and photo safari conducted in and around the area.
I will conduct a “walking tour” of location scouting, where I will cover using the locations available to you, finding good light no matter what your location, and using the light you are stuck with while on location.
I will talk about why I choose the locations I choose, and everyone will have the chance to photograph the models. We are going to have LOTS of shooting time, so please don’t whip your cameras out right away, or you wont really be hearing anything I am teaching. There will be PLENTY of time for shooting. Honestly.
I will cover metering in natural light, use of fill flash, reflector use, shooting in full sun, backlighting and scrim use. If the host of the workshop you are attending has studio lighting available, I am happy to teach a short course on that, as well.
If you have questions, shout ‘em out. I’ll answer whatever I know and look up later whatever I don’t.
We will also covering a host of other topics throughout the day: marketing, sales, pre-session consultations, connecting with you clients, activities to make the session run smoothly, and session planning for creativity.
After the shooting is finished, we will cover post processing. Lightroom and Photoshop will be the subjects I cover. I will show you my workflow, from SOOC to finished images, nothing is secret. I will explain presets, actions and why I sue what. I will help you to examine your images and decide on post processing for them.
I will review portfolios as well. I will offer CC on your images, marketing pieces or ideas. I will help your brainstorm new ideas and hopefully get your creative juices flowing!

The fee for the workshop is $275, and a deposit of $100 must be paid to hold your slot. The balance must be paid 35 days before the workshop date, or your space will be sold to another participant, and your deposit forfeited.
Canceling less than 30 days before the workshop date will result in the loss of your deposit of $100.
Canceling between 21-14 days before the workshop date will result in the loss of your $100 deposit, plus 50% of the balance of the fee.
Canceling between 13-7 days before the workshop date will result in the loss of your full workshop fee of $275.
